References to: healing
A passage from the Old Testament, Psalm 103:3, says the Lord “forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” We know God forgives all of our sins. Is it not logical, then, to expect that he will heal every disease, sickness or infirmity that we might have, when we ask in faith for such healing?
Matthew 9, like most other chapters in Matthew, tells of several events in the life of Christ. But these are not random reports—Matthew sometimes puts stories next to each other because they shed light on each other. They give physical examples of spiritual truths. In chapter 9, Matthew tells several stories that are also found in Mark and Luke—but Matthew’s version is much shorter, more to the point.
Authority to forgive
Some Christians think that they have a guaranteed a way to escape trials. They point to biblical promises that God will intervene for those who have faith in his Son.
