What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you register on our site, make a donation, subscribe to our newsletter, or fill out a form. When registering on our site, you may be asked to enter your: name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number or credit card information. You may visit our site anonymously, but the IP address may be automatically recorded.

What do we use your information for?

We might use your information…

  • to process transactions, such as donations or conference registration. Your information will not be transferred to anyone else, except to do what you asked us to do. Your email address will be used only to send you information about your request.
  • to send periodic emails. If you sign up for our newsletter, we’ll send a message once a week about new materials on our website. We include unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

How do we protect your information?

For credit card and other personal information, we use a secure server (when we collect information, the URL begins with https). Your information is transmitted by “secure socket” technology and may be seen only by personnel with special access rights to our database, and they are required to keep the information confidential.

If you sign up for our weekly email, your email address is stored in a database that is password protected.

Your private information will be kept on file until you tell us to delete it.

Do we use cookies?

Yes. (Cookies are small files that (if you allow it) a site transfers to your computer. The cookies enable our website to recognize your browser and remember certain information.) Cookies may also be used to compile aggregate data (not personal data) about how people use our website, so we can improve it.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent. All users of our online site may change their information by logging on, going to “profile” and then “edit.”

Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act

We comply with the requirements of COPPA — we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website and services are all directed to people who are 13 or older.
